I, uh, don't know these people who landscaped their lawn like this. I have often admired it when driving by (it's been this way for several years) at 40 mph. I finally took the time to photograph it and post it here when someone on a I list I belong to asked to see some pics.

I noticed - now that I am able to view the lawn at a more leisurely pace - that many of the objects I originally thought were trucks are actually part of a train set - two of the cars have Campbell Soup logos. The lawn is completely shaded by a massive monster of a tree, the blooms of which can be seen uniformly scattered around the yard.

Yes, My friend Abby (who owns the camera - thank you Abby!) and I did get permission from a very nice elderly lady and her viciously barking and growling doberman pinscher before we went tromping all over her lawn. It appears that the residents run a professional landscaping business, which would account for the numerous well placed rocks and generous barkdust. None of the other lawns even approach this level of landscaping. I suppose the neighbors are satisfied with just mowing the lawn every six months or so.
