07/15/2003 Entry: "What a vacation!"

What a vacation! 10 days traversing the hills, dales, mountains, forests, rivers, beaches and restaurants of California and Southern Oregon!

On the down side, all the chervil died in the oppressive July 4th weekend heat. The automatic watering couldn't compensate and by the time I got home, it had totally died. Everything else has come back from the heat stress, more or less. Hummingbirds are now facing me down in my balcony garden, and even the praying mantis pouches popped open. The little guys are everywhere.

And to boot, I quit my job when I returned and joined another company! All I ask is that the new job doesn't suck. Or, if it does, at least it will suck for a little more money...
